Preliminary design (project) needs to select and describe selected concept/model/solution/tool and give reasons for selection. All advantages and disadvantages have to be clearly stated.

In project achievement, it is necessary to define (SMART) objectives, phases and timelines.

Already here should be defined handover protocols which will determine whether the deliverables in accordance with a designed and ordered.

All expected and possible, permissible and impermissible restrictions should be listed in the preliminary design.

Preliminary design on the one hand sets the framework, the internal structure of the project, on the other hand defines the outer shape (facade) of the project.

Within this framework, preliminary design is building.  Nobium for its clients makes preliminary design for systems in the areas of its activity.

SMART goals:

Specific

  1. a specific, identifiable, usable;
  2. not universal, "ideological" principal;
  3. "Increase salary" instead of "improving life".
Measurable
  1. measurable results;
  2. can check whether and to what degree accomplished;
  3. "Increase 10% for 30% of employees" instead of " significantly increase to most”.
Achievable
  1. attainable with available resources in a given time.
Resource bound
  1. account realistically available resources;
  2. clearly defines the necessary resources.
TIme constrained
  1. has defined the final time to achieve;
  2. complex targets are divided on the (measurable) phases.
